Haasil is a 2003 Indian crime drama film directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. It stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Irrfan Khan and Ashutosh Rana in lead roles. Irrfan Khan won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for his portrayal of Ranvijay Singh in the movie. The film is set and shot in and around Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The film revolves around the love story of Aniruddha (Jimmy Sheirgill) and Niharika (Hrishitaa Bhatt), who are college students in Allahabad. Their relationship gets entangled in the violent politics of student gangs led by Ranvijay (Irrfan Khan) and Gauri Shankar (Ashutosh Rana). Aniruddha gets involved in Ranvijay's crimes and ends up shooting Niharika's cousin. Ranvijay helps him escape to Mumbai, but later reveals his true intentions of marrying Niharika. Aniruddha decides to fight back with the help of Badri Shankar (Murad Ali), the brother of slain Gauri Shankar. A fierce gun battle ensues at the Kumbh Mela between the rival gangs, where Aniruddha kills Ranvijay and reunites with Niharika.

The film received critical acclaim for its realistic portrayal of student politics and crime in Uttar Pradesh. It also showcased the acting talents of Irrfan Khan, who was praised for his negative role.
